Recently, Mark Millar revealed that he planned to make a third Kick-Ass film, and that it would round out the series and give the character's story a "realistic" ending. Well, it looks like comic book fans will be seeing that ending before the movie audiences get to it--in fact, before the movie audiences even get to Kick-Ass 2. In today's issue of Hit-Girl, a full-page ad promises a "grand finale" in Kick-Ass 3 by Millar and his Kick-Ass co-creator John Romita, Jr., which is coming in May. "I can't believe how well and how fast this is going. Normally, if something is going quickly it's a great sign," Millar recently wrote to his Millarworld forums. I'm really having a lot of fun with this. It's Return of the Jedi, the upbeat third part. But my God it's a lot of fun to write." He added that the story, which he'll preview tomorrow, will feature a new antagonist rather than going back to The Red Mist or Mother Russia. Kick-Ass 2 is headed to theaters in June. Millar has just begun teasing his Jupiter's Legacy, coming soon with collaborator Frank Quitely, while Romita, Jr. is currently working as the artist on Captain America at Marvel.
