Star Trek Into Darkness EW Cover

Entertainment Weekly might have just accidentally dropped one of the biggest movie spoilers ever. Despite claiming in their teaser for their upcoming Star Trek Into Darkness cover issue that J.J. Abrams wouldn't answer their question about whether or not Benedict Cumberbatch plays Khan, the magazine has labeled the Star Trek Into Darkness villain as Khan on their website. After someone on Twitter thought to take a look at the back issue page for Entertainment Weekly, they noticed that this week's cover was labeled "Voyage Into The New Stark Trek: Kirk & Khan." In fact, even the URL for the page on EW's site lists the name Khan. Of course, Entertainment Weekly labeling Benedict Cumberbatch as Khan isn't the same thing as if this had occurred on Paramount's website. It's always possible that whoever was uploading the copy for the back issue page at EW had just heard the rumors about Khan and assumed that was who the villain was. However, considering that EW had to be in pretty close contact with Paramount for all the content in their upcoming issue, it's very likely they visited the Star Trek Into Darkness set and were privy to some confidential information. Has Paramount given them the greenlight to spill the beans on the villain? Or did they accidentally let the cat out of the bag by mistake? Whether it's an accidental leak or a mistake, Twitter is exploding with the news that EW spoiled Star Trek Into Darkness.
