Superior Spider-Man Promises To Make Fans Angrier

Superior Spider-Man 9

Marvel Comics (via ComicBookResources) has taken a very unusual promotional tactic with their solicitation text for an upcoming issue of Superior Spider-Man. Marvel promises that Superior Spider-Man #9 will contain “a turning point that will get you angrier than you were after Spidey #700!” Of course fans were plenty angry after Amazing Spider-Man #700, so much so that writer Dan Slott even reported receiving death threats. What could Slott have up his sleeve to make fans even angrier than Doctor Octopus’ mind taking over Peter Parker’s body.

Superior Spider-Man #9 also teases “It ends here! Superior no more!” and “The time has come to see who will live, who will die, and who will emerge as the one, true Superior Spider-Man!” Does Slott plan to kill off all remnants of Peter Parker’s ghost, making Doc Ock the permanent Superior Spider-Man? That would certainly fit the bill of making fans even angrier than they were after Amazing Spider-Man #700.

Marvel also released promotional text for Superior Spider-Man #10, which says “It begins here!” and “A perfect jumping on point as The Green Goblin returns…and Spider-Man is nowhere to be found!”
