The Wolverine clapperboard

While fans won't see a trailer for The Wolverine until the end of March (we figured we would get that point out of the way upfront because the first comment on any Wolverine article always seems to be when is there going to be a trailer released), director James Mangold just took to Twitter to share a list of films that influenced or served as inspiration for The Wolverine. According the Mangold, The Wolverine is sort of like Chung King Express, Josey Wales, Samurai Trilogy, Floating Weeds, Black Narcissus, Happy Together, 13 Assassins, French Connection, Chinatown, and Shane all wrapped up into one movie. James Mangold also released the behind the scenes photo above. Of course, it's just a picture of a clapperboard with the film and the director's name on it. The Wolverine is set to be released in movie theaters in the United States on July 26, 2013.
