Earlier this week, reports surfaces suggesting that Warner Bros. hoped to put together a version of a Justice League movie that featured both producer Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale and would therefore, either explicitly or implicitly, be tied to that pair's Dark Knight Trilogy. Today, however, Comic Book Movie is reporting that their source is saying what many observers thought was the most likely scenario: that while Nolan will be involved with the films (and rumors that Zack Snyder will produce and may direct are also founded), the involvement of both The Dark Knight star Christian Bale and writer David S. Goyer would be "news to Warner Bros." They also hinted that fans who hoped to get some scoops about the future of the DC Universe during Man of Steel's upcoming pre-release press tour will be disappointed; they describe the studio as playing it close to the vest and claim that while fans' desire for more DC movies "will be rewarded" when Man of Steel hits, nothing official will be announced between now and then. Of course, whether "more movies" in that context means Justice League, World's Finest, other DC properties or just a Man of Steel sequel is unclear. Bear in mind that this, like everything relating to Justice League, is still rumor...but the source is good, and the information is so close to exactly what we've been expecting to hear for months that it will take a pretty compelling argument to convince us otherwise.
