There have been lots of rumors about salaries in regards to those associated with The Avengers. It's been reported that Joss Whedon has a $100 million deal, but Whedon himself sort of denied the rumors. Whedon claimed he is not getting $100 million to direct Avengers 2, but many still wonder if his overall deal with Disney including Agents of SHIELD might be valued at $100 million. Now, Robert Downey Jr. is the latest to join the $100 million rumor club. According to numerous news outlets, Robert Downey Jr. wants a guaranteed $100 million to return for Avengers 2, Avengers 3, and maybe Iron Man 4. We're not sure where the $100 million rumor originated, but the first source we could find was The Australian Sunday Times, which attributes Robert Downey Jr.'s agents of saying he may consider future Marvel Studios roles for a guaranteed $100 million payday along with an increase on his 7 per cent share of box office receipts. Of course, it's never been confirmed exactly what per cent of box office receipts that Robert Downey Jr.'s previous deal entitled him to, but the actor did seem to confirm that he got a $50 million payday from The Avengers. While $100 million might sound like a lot of money for acting in a couple movies, it wouldn't be out of line with his previous earnings for playing Iron Man.
