A new teaser trailer for Batman: Arkham Origins, the latest installment in the popular Arkham franchise from Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment, has made its way online. Batman: Arkham Origins features an expanded Gotham City and introduces an original prequel storyline occurring several years before the events of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Taking place before the rise of Gotham City's most dangerous villains and assassins, the game showcases a young, raw, unrefined Batman as he faces a defining moment in his early career as a crime fighter that sets his path to becoming the Dark Knight. As the story unfolds, witness identities being formed and key relationships being forged. The game was announced last month for Xbox and PlayStation consoles. There will also be a handheld version titled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate for 3DS and Vita, described as a 2.5-D Metroid-style game developed by Armature Studios, the development house founded by ex-Retro developers who worked on Metroid Prime. "We're very aware of the fact that we're standing on the shoulders of giants," said a rep for Warner Games during a video interview with Game Informer, embedded below. "We're playing in the space of some of the most critically-acclaimed games of all time."
