Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer

Move over Conan O'Brien, CBS Sunday Morning has gotten into the Star Trek Into Darkness spoiling game as well, even though their explanation wasn't nearly as funny as yours. During a movie review segment, CBS Sunday Morning movie critic David Edelstein nonchalantly revealed exactly who Benedict Cumberbatch is playing in Star Trek Into Darkness. Of course, since Star Trek Into Darkness premiered overseas before premiering in the United States, spoilers have been all over the place from reviews to social media. However, Edelstein didn't give any type of spoiler warning to turn off the TV, so most viewers were taken completely by surprise that a major television network would suddenly drop a major spoiler. There was a huge backlash on social media aimed directly at CBS Sunday Morning for dropping the spoiler, and many have complained that CBS Sunday Morning hasn't taken down the video segment, so fans are still getting spoiled. Warning: the articles linked contain spoilers. For his part in the whole controversy, Edelstein offered up an apology on Vulture both for the CBS Sunday Morning segment and a review that ran in New York Mag. Edelstien explained that he didn't know the villain's identity was a spoiler, pointing out that the IMDB page for the movie even lists the villain's name. Of course, Entertainment Weekly still holds the honor of being the first to inadvertently spoil Star Trek Into Darkness. However, at the time they dropped their spoiler, no one else had seen the movie, so it's only now been confirmed that they actually spoiled the movie. But still, Conan O'Brien was our favorite spoiler dropper, for reasons that should be obvious if you watch his video explanation below.
