Iron Man 3 Officially Crosses $1 Billion At Box Office

Iron Man 3 has just officially become the sixteenth movie in history to make more than a billion dollars at the worldwide box office. A major part of Iron Man 3 reaching $1 billion has been the film's success at the international box office. Iron Man 3 has taken in $301.9 million at the U.S. box office and $698.9 million at the international box office. Of the sixteen films to have made more than one billion dollars, four of them are comic book movies. Marvel's The Avengers is the top grossing comic book movie of all time with $1.5 billion, followed by The Dark Knight Rises at $1.08 billion and The Dark Knight at $1 billion. With Iron Man 3 just now reaching its third weekend of release in the United States, Iron Man 3 will continue to move up the all time box office chart. Iron Man 3 will almost certainly become one of the top ten highest grossing movies of all time by the end of it's run, and it's likely the film will move into the top five. In fact, it's possible that Iron Man 3 could eventually come to rest at #4 on the all time list right behind Marvel's The Avengers.
