Ever since rumors surfaced that Michael B. Jordan was under serious consideration for the role of the Human Torch in Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot, there has been red hot debate on the Internet. On the one hand, comic book fans often tend to object to anything that changes a character from the classic comic book version. Whether it be Superman losing his red briefs, Lois Lane becoming a redhead, or Human Torch changing skin color, any type of change is virtually always met with some measure of controversy when it comes to comic book characters.

On the other hand, Michael B. Jordan is beloved by many comic book fans, and there is pretty much universal praise for his performance as Steve Montgomery in Chronicle. Michael B. Jordan has proven that he can give a great performance in a superhero movie, and he has proven that he works well with Fantastic Four director Josh Trank. Most seem to be thrilled at the possibility of seeing him in another superhero movie, even if they are against him playing Human Torch.

In a new interview with Empire Online, Michael B. Jordan addresses the Human Torch rumors for the first time on camera, and it certainly appears as if he's pretty close to landing the role if he hasn't already. Michael B. Jordan says, "There's nothing in writing. Nothing's official, but me and Josh are very, very good friends. He's a very, very talented guy.  Fox is a family of mine, and if it were to happen, I would embrace it, and go all the way in."
