Armie Hammer as Ant-Man

It looks like Armie Hammer might be taking some of the pressure off of Nathan Fillion. Ever since word of an Ant-Man movie first surfaced, Nathan Fillion has been repeatedly rumored to be playing Ant-Man. No matter how many times Nathan Fillion denies the rumor, he keeps getting asked the question over and over again by reporters. For all intents and purposes, Nathan Fillion will be Ant-Man until Marvel Studios officially announces who they have cast or until a more enticing rumor surfaces. Well, a more enticing rumor might have just surfaced. According to Screenrant, Armie Hammer was asked about recently visiting the set of Captain America: The Winter Solider with Edgar Wright, who is the director of the upcoming Ant-Man movie. However, Armie Hammer denied that he even knew who Edgar Wright was. Armie Hammer said, "Me and Edgar? Who's Edgar? The actor?" While it's always possible that Armie Hammer has never heard of Edgar Wright, it would seem unlikely, given that Wright was once tied to directing a Night Stalker movie with Armie's Lone Ranger co-star Johnny Depp. When pressed on if he might be playing Ant-Man, Armie Hammer denied that there was anything to the rumor, before jokingly confirming it. However, Armie Hammer did seriously admit that he visited the Captain America set, but he says it was just to visit a buddy of his that was working on the movie. Hmm...his explanation does sound awfully suspicious. With past rumors that Armie Hammer could be in the running to play Batman in a Justice League movie, could Disney be looking to lock up Hammer as an Avenger first?
