Adan Canto Confirmed As Sunspot In X-Men: Days Of Future Past

Back in April, it was confirmed that Adan Canto had joined the cast of Bryan Singer's X-Men: Days Of Future Past. Even though the actor dropped some hints about turning into a ball of fire, it was unknown for sure which character he would be playing. Internet speculation revolved around Canto playing either Sunspot or Sunfire. Comicbook.com can now confirm that Adan Canto will indeed be playing Sunspot. Canto himself confirmed his character in a tweet just a couple days ago. In response to a fan who tweeted, "I'm excited for @adancanto as Sunspot!!", Canto replied "Thanks! Next summer." In the comic books, Sunspot is a Brazilian mutant, who possesses the ability to absorb and channel solar power. Sunspot first appeared in the New Mutants comic book series. X-Men: Days Of Future Past is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on May 23, 2014.
