The Walking Dead executive producer Gale Anne Hurd has played a key role in many comic book and science fiction TV and movie projects over the years. Comicbook.com interviewed Gale Anne Hurd last year, and Collider.com caught up with her this year at the 2013 Saturn Awards. Even though there have been behind-the-scenes changes, Gale Anne Hurd credited The Walking Dead family and Robert Kirkman for helping maintain the show's consistency. Gale Anne Hurd said, "I think it's really a collective. We really do have The Walking Dead family that's been together since the very beginning. I think it's a big tribute to Robert Kirkman as well, let's not forget that he's been with the show since the very beginning. And since it's based on his comic book, it's important that even though we make departures from it that it's still carrying out his vision as interpreted by our showrunner." As far as if The Walking Dead deserved credit for World War Z, Gale Anne Hurd said, "Well, I think we can certainly attribute a lot of that to Brad Pitt...and Max Brooks, who wrote a fantastic book that the film is based on." Gale Anne Hurd was also a producer on some past Marvel projects like the two Punisher movies. As she previously told us, Gale Anne Hurd said that The Punisher rights have now gone back to Marvel. When we asked her last year about the prospects of another Punisher movie, Hurd said, "Marvel has the rights back, and since it's a fan favorite, I imagine at some point this fantastic character will be back, either on the big screen or on television."
