Kanye West Reviews Pacific Rim

Much has been made of the challenges that Pacific Rim will face at the box office. Unlike most of summer's other blockbuster movies, it's not based on established franchise characters. The mainstream media has not been kind to Pacific Rim, doing everything from labeling it as the next Battleship-size flop to repeatedly pointing out it is tracking behind Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2. Because the commercials feature giant robots, Pacific Rim also has the problem of being labeled a Transformers movie copy without the Transformers name and Transformers history. However, all the early reviews that have surfaced have indicated that Pacific Rim is not like a Transformers movie, and it offers up its own unique story. One of those early reviewers and fans of Pacific Rim is none other than hip hop musician Kanye West. Earlier today, Kanye West tweeted, "I saw a pre-screening of Pacific Rim yesterday and it's easily one of my favorite movies of all time." And just to clarify the whole Transformers copy perception issue, Kanye West added, "This is not another "Robot" movie. Guillermo del Toro is a master." Pacific Rim is scheduled to open in movie theaters on July 12, 2013.
