Pacific Rim Hits $100 Million U.S., $400 Million Globally

, the robots-versus-monsters drama from Hellboy director Guillermo del Toro, finally crossed the $100 million mark in U.S. theaters this weekend--a number that some analysts weren't sure it could hit after a disappointing first couple of weeks in theaters. The film has made significantly more internationally, especially in the Chinese market where it has grossed more than $109 million in spite of the fact that some critics have accused it of being American propaganda. The movie took in $700,000 domestically this weekend for an estimated total of $100,117,000. The international take now sits at $304 million, meaning that Pacific Rim has also crossed the $400 million mark globally.
