After the Breaking Bad finale, Comicbook.com reported on how the show had the unexpected consequence of creating a flood of Twitter criticism directed at LOST's Damon Lindelof. Of course, Lindelof had nothing to do with Breaking Bad, other than being a huge fan of the show, so why would fans be criticizing him? Perhaps, it was because Breaking Bad ended with a scene that was somewhat reminiscent of LOST, as Walter White lay dying, flat on his back just like Jack Shephard died three years earlier. Fans, who enjoyed the way that Breaking Bad wrapped everything up in a nice little package, were also reminded of the fact that the LOST finale left many unanswered questions. The backlash on Twitter was immediate and harsh with Damon Lindelof actually retweeting the negative tweets. Now, Lindelof has finally spoken out in regards to the backlash, through an article he wrote for The Hollywood Reporter. While Lindelof praises the Breaking Bad finale, he also defends the LOST finale, actually cleverly using a Walter White quote to do so. Lindelof writes, "I stand by the Lost finale. It's the story that we wanted to tell, and we told it. No excuses. No apologies. I look back on it as fondly as I look back on the process of writing the whole show. And while I'll always care what you think, I can't be a slave to it anymore. Here's why: I did it for me. I liked it. I was good at it. And I was really … I was alive."
