While AMC has yet to officially provide details on the storyline plan for their announced Walking Dead spinoff, TV Line is reporting that the spinoff will be a prequel. While TV Line doesn't cite a source for their information, they note, "There's increasing buzz that the offshoot will be a prequel of sorts, one that would chronicle the early days of the epidemic and the effort to contain it." Earlier rumors had suggested that the Walking Dead spinoff would be set in the same time period but just in a different part of the world, but a prequel would make sense from the perspective of it might allow AMC to recast popular cast members who have been killed off the main Walking Dead series. Even though it's likely the Walking Dead spinoff will follow a mainly new cast of characters, it could always turn out that a couple characters from the original series work their way in somehow. When Comicbook.com interviewed IronE Singleton last month, we asked him about the Walking Dead spinoff and possibility of T-Dog appearing in it if it turned out to be a prequel. "I'm hoping to be in the spinoff [laughing]. How cool would that be to be a part of that show? Anything that happens, I'm maintaining a really great relationship with everybody attached to the show," said Singleton. [Walking Dead creator] Robert Kirkman and Brian Huntington, those guys over at Skybound, I post on their website very Friday to let people know what's going on. That blogspots called T-Dog It's Friday. [Walking Dead executive producer] Gale Anne Hurd's production company Valhalla gave me an opportunity to take over their Twitter account. And then, over at AMC, Charlie Collier, president over there, we have a really good relationship. So it could happen. I could pop up anywhere. I'm looking forward to the future." The Walking Dead spinoff series is scheduled to start airing on AMC in 2015.
