Bryan Cranston Lex Luthor

Earlier this year, a big rumor surfaced online that Bryan Cranston had been cast as Lex Luthor in Batman Vs. Superman. Several major news outlets picked up the rumor and reported the rumor as a done deal. However, when no official announcement ever came from Warner Bros. after Breaking Bad ended, the rumor was pretty much labeled by everyone as false. Now, the rumor that Bryan Cranston has been cast as Lex Luthor has once again resurfaced on social media. The source of the rumor appears to be some tweets made by AMC Movie News Editor-In-Chief John Campea. On Twitter, Campea wrote, "NOT A SCOOP - for what it's worth I've now heard from 2 sources who Lex Luthor will be played by in Batman vs Superman. Take this with a giant grain of salt because I've never heard news from either of these sources before and I'm not sure I buy it.... But... What I've been told by both sources is that although it wasn't true before when it was rumored a few months ago... Is that it's not Phoenix, but Bryan Cranston. Again, not sure I buy it, but 2 sources claim Cranston is Lex Luthor. 2 untested sources..." Campea did specifically warn that his tweets should not be treated as news but should be considered rumor. However, any time someone as high profile as an AMC Movie News Editor-In-Chief puts something out there about Batman Vs. Superman, it's going to start circulating as news. Whether it's true or not, the rumor is already starting to pick up again, likely once again fueled by fan desire for it to be true. Batman Vs. Superman is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on July 17, 2015.
