You can add X-Men: Days of Future Past star Michael Fassbender and The Matrix and Captain America: The First Avenger star Hugo Weaving to the never-ending list of names attached to Star Wars Episode VII. According to a story at The Hollywood Reporter, the pair are among those being considered (and indeed taking meetings with director J.J. Abrams, possibly as soon as this week) for the sequel, which is expected to being principal photography soon. According to the story, Abrams met with Fassbender in December. Girls star Adam Driver, who was briefly rumored to be playing Nightwing in Batman vs. Superman, is being eyed for a role. Abrams and company have reportedly seen just about every young star in Hollywood over the last few months, although nobody is officially cast yet, as far as anyone outside of the production knows. Soarise Ronan and Michael B. Jordan, whose names have been attached to projects like Avengers: Age of Ultron and Fantastic Four, respectively, have admitted to having had meetings, while Kick-Ass and Carrie star Chloe Grace-Moretz responded to rumors that she was being considered by gushing that she's take the job in a heartbeat if offered. While it's not clear what roles exactly are in play for most of the rumored actors, THR says Weaving met for a part to play an Imperial commander. The report also said that, yes, yesterday's rumors about Breaking Bad's Jesse Plemons being considered are true--but he may have been oversold and his casting isn't the done deal that it sounded like. The film's needs have reportedly changed since meetings and auditions began, with the decision to tilt the movie more in favor of the Original Trilogy characters resulting in some characters being written out, new characters being created and a number of characters being aged somewhat to fit in better with the main characters' peer group. An example used is that a part originally intended for a 20-year-old will now go to a 40-year-old. Also of note: THR claims that Abrams and Lucasfilm are now searching for a 20-something female actress who is either of mixed race or black, with rumors pointing toward her being a descendant of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
