Captain America: The Winter Soldier Super Bowl Trailer Preview

During Super Bowl XLVIII, Marvel Studios will be premiering a brand new trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In preparation for the new commercial spot during the big game, we've prepared a preview of what you can expect to see in the new spot, as well as a summary of key players. Captain America: The Winter Soldier stars Chris Evans as Steve Rogers (aka Captain America). The sequel picks up after the attack on New York in The Avengers. Rogers is now living in Washington, D.C., and he's trying to adjust to the complexities of the modern day world. While it's unlikely that Iron Man or the Hulk will be dropping by, Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be much closer to an Avengers sequel than Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World. Fellow Avenger Black Widow plays a major role in the film, and she joins forces with Captain America to expose what is being described as ever-widening conspiracy. In addition to Black Widow, another Marvel Comics superhero will be making his big screen debut in the film. The Falcon, who is being played by Anthony Mackie, will emerge as an ally to Black Widow and Captain America. Falcon was the first African-American superhero in mainstream comic books. S.H.I.E.L.D. plays a central role in the film, and Samuel L. Jackson will be returning as Nick Fury. Also, Robert Redford will be making his Marvel Studios debut as Alexander Pierce. It's a little bit of a mystery as to whether Redford's character will be a good guy or a villain in the film. Speaking of villains, there are three known villains appearing in the film. The Winter Soldier, who is played by Sebastian Stan, is being billed as the central villain. Also, Frank Grillo is playing Crossbones and Georges St-Pierre is playing Batroc the Leaper. Last year, Marvel Studios released the first theatrical trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which we've embedded below. In anticipation of the new Captain America: The Winter Soldier TV spot airing during Super Bowl XLVIII, Marvel Studios also released several new images, posters, and some sneak peek footage which we've included below.
