When appearing on Ora TV's Larry King Now, Seth Green voiced his opinion over why he didn't think Ben Affleck was right for the role of Batman in Batman Vs. Superman. Green described Superman as someone who wouldn't ever kill people, and Batman as someone who does what he has to do. "If this movie is meant to be the idealistic alien, humans before all else Superman, and this is supposed to be the grizzled weathered Batman who's been living in Gotham, fighting crime himself for 10 years, you need a guy who's older," said Green. "You need a guy who's got more weight. You need a guy that a Henry Cavill Superman is gonna be actually scared of." As the first celebrity to publicly voice opposition to Affleck being cast as Batman, his comments quickly went viral. While some have supported Green for having the guts to speak out, others have bashed him, questioning the reasoning he gave for his opposition. Evidently, Green has been reading some of the backlash that has resulted from his comments, so earlier today Green issued the following statement. "For the record, I actually think Ben Affleck is a great actor, fantastic writer & excellent director," wrote Green. Of course, Green's initial comments were not necessarily critical of Affleck's acting, writing, or directing ability. Green merely ascertained that Affleck was not right for the role of Batman, giving the example that he himself wouldn't be right for the role of a MMA fighter. However, it's doubtful that Green's clarification/apology-of-sorts will attract the widespread media attention that his initial criticism did.
