Marvel's Defenders Press Conference Video

Yesterday, Disney, Marvel, Netflix and New York Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the Netflix exclusive Defenders television series would all be filmed in New York City. Marvel has released a video showing highlights from the big announcement ceremony, featuring addresses from Governor Cuomo, Marvel's Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada, and Disney's Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger. Iger said that the Defenders characters are all native to New York City, specifically Hell's Kitchen, and that was, "a setting that we believe is just as important to their stories as the characters themselves." He went on to say that filming the series in New York was, "making it possible for us to have the ultimate authentic backdrop for this epic Marvel series." The Defenders television franchise will begin airing on Netflix in 2015, beginning with Daredevil.
