Batman Vs. Superman To Premiere In The UK First

The Film Distributor's Association has listed Batman vs. Superman as opening in the United Kingdom on April 29, 2016. This means that the film will open in the UK a full week before its North American release date of May 6, 2016. It's not uncommon for films to open on different dates internationally than they do domestically. Marvel Studios films, in particular, are known for opening earlier abroad. Most recently, Captain America: The Winter Soldier opened on March 28 in the UK, compared to April 4 in the United States. In other words, no, this is not evidence that Batman vs. Superman's release date is being moved to avoid conflicting with Captain America 3. In fact, it likely means that the two films will go head-to-head in the UK as well. Batman vs. Superman is set to begin filming in Detroit, with the film's Bruce Wayne, Ben Affleck, reporting for duty today. Batman vs. Superman is scheduled for North American release on May 6, 2016.
