The Guardians of the Galaxy will grace the cover of the newest issue of Empire Magazine. The cover features the main cast of the film, all humorously labelled for your convenience: Chris Pratt as Star-Lord (thief), Zoe Saldana as Gamora (assassin), and Dave Bautista as Drax (warrior), as well as the computer animated Groot (muscle) and Rocket (raccoon) – voiced by Vin Diesel and Bradley Cooper, respectively.

There is also a second, limited edition, subscriber's only cover that features the villains of the film: Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Karen Gillan as Nebula.

"There's a lot of strange stuff in the movie," says Gunn in Empire's Guardians of the Galaxy cover feature. "But that's the thing that makes it different. For cinema to remain relevant, you really need to not make every film seem like its Transformers 18 and to try to make things that are a little bit different."

Guardians of the Galaxy opens in theaters August 1.
