Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 9/11 Exploding Skyscraper Poster Creates Social Media Stir

Earlier today, a new poster for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was released online, creating a bit of an online stir.

The poster features the four Turtles leaping from an exploding skyscraper. The poster probably would have gone unnoticed, except that it came out of Paramount's Australian branch, and features the film's Australian release date of September 11.

The poster has agitated many who have seen it and consider it insensitive to the events of September 11, 2001, that saw terrorists hijack and fly planes into the twin towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. Many simply don't understand how the poster made it out of Paramount's marketing department.

Paramount has since removed the poster from their official Twitter account, but, the Internet being what it is, it's not hard to find.The poster has been creating a stir on social media and has been reported on a number of news sites.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles releases in the United States on August 8.
