Keanu Reeves Gives Bill & Ted Fans a Glimpse of Middle-Aged Ted Logan

by Jay Jayson

While appearing as a guest on a recent episode of The Graham Norton Show, Keanu Reeves promoted the John Wick sequel and was asked about the current status of the third Bill & Ted movie — which has been in development since 2010 and would feature Bill S. Preston and Ted 'Theodore' Logan in their fifties.

Reeves confirmed that Bill & Ted 3 is still in the works and even talked-up its story. “There’s a cool story. Basically, they’re supposed to write a song to save the world and they haven’t done that yet,” the 52-year-old actor explained. “So the pressure of having to save the world — their marriages are falling apart, their kids are kind of mad at them. But then someone comes from the future and tells them if they don’t write the song it’s just not the world, it’s the universe. So they have to save the universe because time is breaking apart. So then elements of the past are coming in...”

After liking the sound of the futuristic character, fellow guest and former Star Trek: The Next Generation actress, Whoopi Goldberg, jumped into the conversation. “I must be that person,” she declared. “I have to be the person from the future. I have to be!”

Reeves excitedly replied, “You’re in it!”

Then, after some soft prodding from the show's host, Reeves said Ted Logan's "Excellent!" catchphrase and performed the character's signature air guitar moves.
