The Walking Dead's sixth season ended with one of the largest cliffhangers in television history. For the next six months, we're all going to be wondering, asking, and talk about, "Who did Negan kill?"

Fans have taken to Facebook, Twitter, and comment sections everywhere to share their opinion of who died. No one's theory seems to match anyone else's. They're all unique, all different, and everyone seems equally confident that their theory is the right one.

Meanwhile, The Walking Dead showrunner Scott Gimple told ComicBook.com on Monday that there's no way fans can use the information provided in the season six finale to figure out who died. "I believe there is no way," Gimple says of the finale episode. "There are a couple of things in there that might help people possibly limit the amount of people who are vulnerable but I will say, I would recommend people not to go down that route. I truly don't think there is a way to puzzle it all out definitively."

So, we're going to try to do just that, right now.

First, let's consider all of the eligible victims: Rick, Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Abraham, Sasha, Rosita, Eugene, Michonne, Daryl, and Aaron.

Right away, we can rule Rick and Carl out. When Negan selected his victim, he threatened to "Cut the boy's other eye out," meaning Carl, "and feed it to his father," meaning Rick. Therefore, the two would be around to lose and eat said eyeball.

We can also take Maggie Greene off the chopping block. According to Gimple, we will find out exactly what is going on with her pregnancy complications when The Walking Dead returns for its seventh season. No one at the Hilltop is going to waste their time examining a dead body to find out why she was sick prior to getting her head bashed in.

It's probably safe to take Michonne out the running, as well. Rick is very protective of those around him. If Negan were to pick his girlfriend, there's a slim chance he would sit back and watch her slaughtered in front of him.

Everyone else is fair game. Eugene, Glenn, Abraham, Sasha, Rosita, and Aaron.

Many people suspect Aaron, claiming that Negan was between Rick and Carl when he made his swing and Aaron was the only person between the father and son. Well, it turns out that Sasha is also between Carl and Rick and if Sasha were to have been selected, Abraham almost certainly would have interjected. But if this is true, Aaron is certainly one of the eligible victims.

Some suspect Abraham because of the look he and Negan shared but Negan's eenie-meenie-minie-moe game was completely random. It didn't matter who looked at him prior to unleashing his swing.

Killing Rosita would be the biggest disappointment. Not only do we want to see her develop a relationship with Eugene but her death would be the least impactful on our group. Rick, Aaron, Michonne, Daryl, Glenn, and Maggie have no particular relationship with her and the same can almost be said for Sasha. It's not that it would be any sort of relief and easy way out to have these characters killed from Rick's perspective, but it certainly wouldn't be as devastating as losing Glenn, Maggie, Daryl, Carl, Abraham or Michonne.

A lot people seem to think that AMC's new Ride with Norman Reedus series indicates that Reedus' Daryl Dixon is the one to be killed off. This new series, however, doesn't conflict with Reedus' Walking Dead schedule. First of all, the show is from the same network and that network's priority is most certainly their flagship series which happens to be the highest rated show on Sunday nights. Daryl is, however, a wild card. His character has never existed in the comics so his fate is constantly unknown.

The most popular theory is the Glenn got the bat. An analyzed bit of audio from the closing moments of the season thoroughly backs this up but based on Gimple's comments, we can only assume that the subtitles added to the video are inaccurate.

One theory that's gaining some steam and probably has the most credibility is the one which claims Negan had to kill either Eugene or Glenn. Fans have counted the number of steps he takes between "You are" and "it" and since the number is pretty high, a lot of people are concluding that the lead Savior walked from one end of Rick's group to the other. Eugene and Glenn were on the far sides.

Of course, Negan did kill Glenn in The Walking Dead comics, which makes him the most likely candidate to be on the receiving end of the hellish swing. The actor also joined a film which will be shooting this month, just as most of The Walking Dead cast will be heading back to set. That doesn't bode well for Glenn.

For now, the only conclusion is that there is no absolute conclusion. We can confidently assume that Rick, Carl, Maggie are safe and putting money on Michonne walking away is a good bet, as well.

The Walking Dead will return for its seventh season in October. Expect a trailer with possible clues to spawn from San Diego Comic Con in July.
