Ever since the word first came out that The Walking Dead would receive a companion series, the fans clamored in excitement at the thought of seeing character from The Walking Dead appear on another series outside of their yearly 16 episodes. However, when Fear the Walking Dead was announced as being a prequel to the hit AMC series on the opposite coast of the country, fans' hopes were dashed.

Several times since Fear the Walking Dead was announced and has begun airing, everyone involved has been asked about the possibilities of a crossover. At times, the thought has been ruled out but others have seen teases of a possible link way down the line.

Today, ComicBook.com spoke to Fear the Walking Dead producer Dave Erickson and got his thoughts on the matter. The possibilities not only look grim, but are being completely ruled out for the time being.

"As of right now, no, there is no plan," Erickson says. "From a narrative perspective, nevermind the geography of it all, I think it would be too difficult to pull off. I don't think there's anything, as far as I've read in the comic, I don't think there's any trackway for that either. It's such a complicated proposition and I think for the time being, the two shows just need to exist in their own spheres."

Trying to further the possibilities or toss some ideas into the mix, we suggested bringing the long lost character of Morales from The Walking Dead into Fear's story line but Erickson didn't comment. Instead, he got a good chuckle from the idea.
