Within the next few hours, the biggest mystery in pop culture will be revealed. We will all finally know without any debate who Negan killed.

In the event you've landed here and need a refresher, here it is: The Walking Dead's sixth season ended with Negan killing one of eleven core characters on the series. The only character revealed to have survived since is Rick Grimes, the least surprising news since the Season 6 finale aired in April. Tonight, the kill will be revealed in the Season 7 premiere.

So, for the last time, let's ask ourselves... Who did Negan kill?

Let's think about this regardless of how many people we think the new villain, portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, kills. We know there is at least one.

First of all, the death rightfully belongs to Glenn Rhee. As much as the fans want to see the Atlanta Five keep a pulse, no one can debate that the most infamous death in The Walking Dead comics should be delivered to the screen as it was on the pages.

Comic books aside, there are clues to who Negan killed surfacing on the Internet. While some comment section heroes claim that actors such as Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, and Michael Cudlitz have been absent from production - apparently all of their character the victims of a thirsty Lucille - the possibility of Hershel's pocketwatch being revealed in the first footage from the Season 7 premiere backs the theory.

The same object people are calling Hershel's pocketwatch has, however, been a subject of debate. While the possibility remains that it is simply a chunk of someone's skull, the fans who don't agree with the pocketwatch theory are claiming to see an engagement ring. This would indicate that Maggie raised her hands over her head to soften the blow of Lucille and had her hands consequently mashed into her brains as Negan relentless pounded her with a bat.

That said, Maggie was very much weakend by a fever and pregnancy complications by the time Negan came into the picture. There's no way she could have taken such a brutal blow to the head and looked back up at her killer for him to quip, "Taking it like a champ!"

The only character in the line-up aside from Rick who would be both strong and proud enough to take a blow to the head and defiantly raise their head to Negan again is Abraham. The former soldier's story has been all too happy for him to actually settle down with Sasha, after all, right?

Of course, the final likely candidate is Daryl Dixon. While many fans suspect the character to have earned armor in the form a fan favoritism, he is most definitely involved in Negan's beatdown in one way or another. The New York Comic Con clip which appeared to reveal the immediate aftermath of Negan's beatdown revealed Daryl's green towel front and center behind the remains of someone's head. Either Daryl himself got the bat or he intervened which Negan thoroughly promised to shut down.

For the last time ahead of the premiere... Who do you think Negan killed?
