The Walking Dead: Pollyanna McIntosh On What Makes Her Villain So Good

The Walking Dead created one of the most hated characters in an instant during its seventh season and we're not talking about Negan.
The AMC series introduced a questionable character late in Season 7, a short spoken and genuinely mysterious woman by the name of Jadis. Jadis and her group struck a deal with Rick, agreeing that if he supplied guns, she was would supply soldiers, and everybody would fight Negan. However, in the Season 7 finale, Jadis used those guns to turn on Rick and become one of the most despised character on the show.
While some fans insist they never trusted her, Jadis' decision was largely a surprise at an incredibly inconvenient time. According Pollyanna McIntosh, the actress portraying the character, it's all part of what makes her villainous character so great.
"She's a great adapter," McIntosh told CinemaBlend. "I think that's her real strength. I think that's why she's in the position she's in. She's a real adapter to what's happening. She's got a great presence of mind, and she can judge and take in a lot of different information at the same time, and make decisions that somebody else might not have the guts to make...She's a great leader as well, and people trust her. She's gained a strong following within her group, and she's proved herself time and time again."
With Pollyanna McIntosh becoming a series regular on The Walking Dead heading into the eighth season, we can expect to see more of her character's leadership skills. Whether or not those leadership skills will transform her into the leader of the group from Robert Kirkman's comics known as the Whisperers remains a possibility. "I think, you know, in a very diplomatic, poltician type of way," McIntosh told ComicBook.com. "I can say I think anything is possible in this universe we're inhabiting right now and that's one of the really strong points of the show because I'm not gonna tell you anything!"
