Michael Cudlitz won over the hearts of Walking Dead fans with his rugged portrayal of Sgt. Abraham Ford, but it sounds like the popular character could have looked a lot different.

While on the WINC Podcast, former TNA and WWE wrestling star Matt Morgan revealed that he was on the verge of landing the role of Abraham on AMC's popular horror series.

The folks on the podcast were talking about TV shows when the subject of The Walking Dead came up. Morgan quickly said that he felt bitter toward the show because of a casting issue, so he stopped watching. He went on to reveal that he was in the running for Abraham at one point.

"I auditioned for that part and I was all-but-told that it was mine," Morgan explained. "So I got b****y about it and refused to watch [the show] because I didn't get it. I was at my brother's house in Boston, supposed to be there for the holidays and I didn't pay attention to anybody because I was supposed to be memorizing my scripts. And then, at the last second, they pulled the carpet out from underneath me."

Obviously, the role was eventually given to Cudlitz, which ended Morgan's opportunity. Knowing how everything worked out, it's unlikely Walking Dead fans would have wanted anyone else in the role of Abraham.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 pm ET on AMC. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
