New Wonder Woman Movie Image Reveals The Amazons

A new image from the Wonder Woman movie has been released, revealing the Amazons of Themyscira.

Shown in the image are Princess Diana (Gal Gadot), who will make her cinematic debut in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice,her mother, Queen Hyppolyta (Connie Nielsen), and Diana’s aunts, General Antiope (Robin Wright) and her lieutenant, Menalippe. The three elder amazons have raised the princess together, but they don’t always see eye to eye. Hyppolyta wants to keep her daughter safe, but Antiope, Diana’s trainer, wants the princess to be prepared.

“She is the only child they raised together,” director Patty Jenkins tells EW. “And their love for her manifests in a different way for each of them.”

This Wonder Woman image releasing just as Batman v. Superman is opening in theaters is more likely careful marketing on Warner Bros. part than mere coincidence. After all, surveys show that Wonder Woman is actually Batman v. Superman‘s biggest draw.
