This year, fans have been too busy paying attention to Sony’s Spider-Man: Homecoming to give the animated Spider-Man movie a second thought. However, fans are still interested in the animated feature and have been waiting anxiously for news on the flick. Now, those fans have had their wishes granted by a recent casting call for a project codenamed ‘Cabin Fever.’ The false name is the working title for the Spider-Man flick, but its actual casting call gives more concrete updates on the film.

Now, fans are being sent into a tizzy over one piece of the casting call. It looks like Sony’s animated feature may feature everyone’s favorite Spider-Man, Miles Morales.

Though the casting call has already expired, the folks over at Comic Book Movie saved the character descriptions on the call sheet. The release gave a short synopsis of the film which says it “chronicles the adventures of two unlikely friends, Terrence and Pete.” However, it appears those names are false, and Terrence may just be Miles Morales.

Check out the character description for Terrence and see what you think:

“A young African-American/Puerto Rican teen from Brooklyn; he is new to this suburban school and now feeling out of place, overwhelmed, pressured with new responsibilities, and dealing with puberty; while trying to fit in he must do his best to stay out of trouble; along the way in developing his identity he’s losing old friends but now making a new one, Pete.”

As for Pete, don’t go thinking the character has any relationship to Peter Parker. According to the cast sheet, here’s the description for Pete: “A young, slighgtly geeky, Asian-American teen; he’s smart, sweet, and encouraging; although very unlike any of the friends Terrence had in his old Brooklyn neighborhood, Pete proves to be a good fit for Terrence making good decisions.”

If you are familiar with Miles Morales’ Spider-Man, then these two character descriptions should sound familiar to you. Of course, the first entry describes the Black-Hispanic hero to a tee. The second also sounds suspiciously like it is describing Miles’ best friend Ganke who is Korean-American and very nerdy.

For now, fans will have to wait until Sony gives any official details about the animated feature, but it looks like the studio may be pursuing a Miles Morales film. The character has previously appeared in Disney XD’s Ultimate Spider-Man where Donald Glover voiced the teen hero, and fans would be more than happy to see the vigilante receive a full-length feature of his own. This is not the first time that fans have wondered whether Miles Morales would be the star of Sony’s upcoming project. Earlier this year, Heroic Hollywood reported that the young hero would be the focus of the unnamed Spider-Man flick, and now it looks like those rumors are proving to be true.

A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland), who made his sensational debut in Captain America: Civil War, begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging super hero in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, Peter returns home, where he lives with his Aunt May (Marisa Tomei), under the watchful eye of his new mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.). Peter tries to fall back into his normal daily routine โ€“ distracted by thoughts of proving himself to be more than just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man โ€“ but when the Vulture (Michael Keaton) emerges as a new villain, everything that Peter holds most important will be threatened.
