In just under a year, the world will be treated to the biggest superhero spectacle of all-time. Marvel Studios has been building its cinematic universe up to a peak, and that climax will hit next year with Avengers: Infinity War. More than a decade in the making, the blockbuster will see Earth’s mightiest heroes team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy and others to save their world from a Mad Titan. Thanos is out to collect all the Infinity Stones, and galactic villain will not rest until he has complete control of the universe.

Marvel has kept quiet about the film so far, but it seems like fans have just gotten their first in-depth look at the movie’s story. Thanks to License! Global magazine, a slew of synopses for Marvel Studios have been update. Thor: Ragnarok and Black Panther now have new description to look over – but they pale in comparison to one new description. The first synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War is out, and it sounds as dire as you might expect.
You can check out the first synopsis for Avengers: Infinity War below:
“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.”
The movie’s first synopsis doesn’t give anything away in terms of specific details, but it does highlight its high-risk nature. Avengers: Infinity War will see heroes like Iron Man and Captain America face a villain who is in another league or ten from Loki or Ultron. The Mad Titan has little else on his mind but total tyrannical power, and Thanos has the means to acquire such rule. With the Avengers fractured following Captain America: Civil War, the group will be forced to work together once more to prevent existence itself from unraveling before them. But, even then, there is no telling whether everyone will make it out of the ordeal alive…
Avengers: Infinity War is described by Marvel Studios as the culmination of everything in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Iron Man in 2008. The movie is filming now under directors Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely.
The expansive confirmed cast includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the villain Thanos. Avengers: Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel are filming back-to-back for a May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 release, respectively.
