Six Flags Fiesta Texas will open its Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth roller coaster in 2018. The ride, the first of its kind, comes from manufacturing company Rocky Mountain Construction and is the first publicly rideable single-rail design coaster.

Unlike most roller coasters than operate on two-rail tracks, Lasso of Truth is the first of its kind anywhere in the world: it will run on just a single, 15.5-inch-wide steel track, which runs for 113 feet towards a 100-foot, 90-degree drop. The twisty ride carries eight-passenger trains and will take riders through multiple overbooked turns and three inversions, reaching speeds of 52 miles per hour.

“I expect it to be crazy smooth and crazy fun,” Larry Chickola, Six Flags VP and chief corporate engineer, shared with USA Today of Fiesta Texas’ newest ride, which replaces Power Surge. “There will be extremely quick twists and turns โ€” quicker and smoother than regular coasters.”

Lasso of Truth will be the third DC Comics property to come to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, already home to Batman: The Ride and Superman: Krypton Coaster.

The Amazonian warrior is the latest DC character to headline a coaster in a Six Flags property. Across their 18 parks in North America, Six Flags has erected multiple rides featuring Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, the Joker, Lex Luthor, Mr. Freeze, Bizarro, and the Riddler.

The ride comes after the first live-action Wonder Woman movie grossed more than $800 million worldwide for Warner Bros., becoming the highest-grossing movie of the summer and the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman. Actress Gal Gadot will reprise the role of Diana Prince / Wonder Woman in Justice League, in theaters November 17th.

Wonder Woman: Lasso of Truth is expected to open at Six Flags Fiesta Texas in spring 2018.
