Over on Twitter, Arifumi Imai shared artwork he drew of the two protagonists with his followers. The artist, who acts as the show’s Action Animation Director, made a composite picture of both Eren and Mikasa. The image’s background prominently features Eren’s profile as he stares off into the distance. And, when it comes to Mikasa, the strong-hearted beauty is drawn in a more feminine light. Touching her red scarf, Mikasa’s hair is windswept and her gentle expression looks doe-eyed. Clearly, the depiction is far cry from her usual stoney face in the anime, but fans are more than pleased to see this oft unseen side of the heroine.
So, if you are excited to see more Attack on Titan, then you should be marking your calendars for April. It looks like Imai has already made a commitment to getting fans ready for the anime’s comeback. Earlier this month, the artist shared more behind-the-scenes sketches of Eren with fans that caused a buzz amongst the fandom.
If you are not familiar with Attack on Titan, then you should know the popular anime is renowned for its intense action and gritty storylines. The anime follows a boy named Eren Yeager in an alternate world overrun by massive creatures known as Titans. These mindless beasts have all but wiped out humanity, and mankind is left to cower in fear behind massive walls. When their sanctum is infiltrated by a slew of Titans, Eren and his friends Armin and Mikasa join the military to help eradicate the blood-thirty monsters. But, as they grow older, they learn that the beasts are not what they appear as long-held government conspiracies make themselves known.
