Future Trunks Defeats All 3 Dragon Ball Z Villains
When fans first meet Future Trunks, the fighter is immediately classifiedย as a badass. Not only was Future Trunks able to kill the touted villain in just a single episode, but the boy went on to battle the anime’s other main villains.
When it comes to Cell, Future Trunks finally got one over the artificial monster when he struck its Imperfect form down. Future Trunks stumbled upon his timeline’s version of Imperfect Cell afterย he returns to his future timelineย for good. The half-Saiyan cuts the villain down before he can steal Future Trunk’s time machine to seek out more power.

Future Trunks & RIP Scanners
Dragon Ball Z had a love for Power Scanners until Future Trunks made himself known. The technology helped Freeza’s soldiers assess fights before they even got involved, but the headsets were faulty at best. After all, the Z-Fighters already knew how to hide their true power levels from the devices; Raditz learned that for himself the hard way.
When Future Trunks came in, the anime decided to show just how dumb the scouters really were. Freeza refused to give up the technology even after being revived as a mechanized zombie. When Mecha Freeza and his gang run into Trunks, they believe his power level is in the single digits because of their scanners, but that was far from the truth. It’s just too bad the gang only learned about their error once Future Trunks was about to kill them all.

Future Trunksโ Super Saiyan Origins Differ
In the anime, Dragon Ball fans learned more about Future Trunks and how he gained the ability to go Super Saiyan in one dark story. “The History of Trunks” special followed the character in his timeline as he trained withย Gohan. Future Trunks came from a world where Androids ruled the Earth, and the Z-Fighters had alreadyย been demolished. The boy only gains the ability to go Super Saiyanย after he comes across Gohan’s dead boy, but that isn’t how it went down in the manga.
According to the manga, Future Trunks was able to go Super Saiyan before Gohan was killed. The boy had lots of trouble maintaining the form, so Future Gohan never encouraged it in real battle. However, when the elder fighter died at the Androids’ hands, the death triggered something in Future Trunks. All of the boy’s grief helped him control his Super Saiyan form for good, and then he made his plans to hop dimensions in order to save his timeline’s world.

Future Trunks Has A Mysterious Super Saiyan Form
When Dragon Ball Super was finally released, fans were excited to see the franchise get a new canon installment. Akira Toriyama collected a slew of stories he wanted turned into an anime, and one of the creator’s ideas was a brand-new Super Saiyan form for Future Trunks.
During the anime’s “Future Trunks” saga, fans watched as the character went head-to-head against Goku Black and Future Zamasu. The villainous duo pushed Future Trunks to take on a form known as Super Saiyan Rage during one climatic battle. The pair blamed Future Trunks for all the destruction present in his timeline and the present one. Clearly, the accusation did not sit well with the time-traveler, and Future Trunks unleashed one hellish Super Saiyan form in retaliation.
