At last, Godzilla is getting ready to make their latest move into theaters. Following its stellar launch in Japan, Godzilla Minus One is slated to go live this weekend in the United States. The Toto flick promises to reinvent Godzilla as its story brings the titan back to the 1940s. And according to the reviews, Godzilla Minus One is the monster’s most impressive movie in decades.ย

As you can see below, film critics have nothing but compliments for Godzilla Minus One. The movie has an impressive 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes with over 20 reviews. So if you love the kaiju, do yourself a favor and check out Godzilla Minus One this weekend.
Directed and written by Takashi Yamasaki, Godzilla Minus One starts a new era for Toho’s monster movies. The film puts audiences back in time after World War II as Japan struggles to rebound from its part in the event. Things go from bad to worse when Godzilla makes its appearance off the short of Japan. It falls on a war veteran to help the nation’s people fight back with little to nothing on hand. And if that doesn’t sound like a compelling tale, then what does?
Of course, Godzilla Minus One is not the only thing the monster has on deck. Right now, the MonsterVerse is topping Hollywood thanks to its Apple TV+ show Monarch: Legacy of Monsters. The franchise will continue its reign into 2024 as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is on deck for April. There has never been a better time to love Godzilla, and the fun begins this weekend with Godzilla Minus One.
