The Dragon Ball Fights Fans Want To See

Fans will be surprised to hear just how many battles went down between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.

The two anime series stretched on for hundreds of episodes, and nearly every one had a fight of some sort. Over 185 fights are seen throughout the two anime series, and that is not including fights from Dragon Ball GT, Dragon Ball Super, and the franchise’s various films.

Clearly, Akira Toriyama was no stranger to making his characters duke it out, but not every fan has seen their dream match-up play out yet.

Here at ComicBook, we are listing some of the top fantasy fights fans would love to see make an appearance one day – even if they do require a bit of rule-bending.

Yamcha v Mr. Satan

Talk about a gag match for the ages. When it comes to Dragon Ball’s worst fighters, the list is heralded by these two goons. Yamcha is the butt of every Dragon Ball joke thanks to how often he’s been killed. As for Mr. Satan, the beefy martial artist may look dangerous, but his bulging muscles are mainly used for show and cheats. Both fighters are stronger than your average Earthling, but the two of them facing off with one another would spell one hilarious disaster. Even Goku would have to turn his head at the spectacle. 

Bardock SS v Frieza

Fans already know how the battle between Bardock and Frieza ends, but that doesn’t mean they are not interested in seeing it played out. Fans were able to watch the two characters briefly interact in the first episode of Dragon Ball Z Kai. Goku’s father approaches Frieza, attempting to stop the tyrant from destroying Planet Vegeta and its Saiyan inhabitants. The villain uses his Supernova attack to destroy the character before the attack then wipes out the rest of the Saiyans. The film Barkdock – The Father of Goku lays out the encounter even more so. But, still – fans wish Bardock could have gone Super Saiyan in his last moments to fight. The battle would have become an even more memorable one.

Goku SS3 v Ultimate Gohan

After Gohan had his full power unlocked by Old Kai during the Majin Buu saga, the half-Saiyan became a fearsome opponent to even Goku. Gohan’s so-called mystic form allowed him to tap into his true potential, and Piccolo had always said the fighter had more power than his father stored away in him. However, Gohan did not have a chance to fully extend his powers in a fight against Goku after unlocking the state. Now, fans would do a lot to see Ultimate Gohan fight his father when the latter goes Super Saiyan Blue. The resulting tug-or-war would leave fans ready to tear their hair out!

Gogeta v Vegito

When Dragon Ball fans talk about fusions, there are two fused characters out there who have no equals. Gogeta and Vegito are two different fusion which Goku and Vegeta can do together. Throughout the franchise, the fusions have been used in dire moments to take on villains like Broly, Janemba, and even Goku Black. It may take a bit of universe-bending, but fans would love to see Gogeta and Vegito go at it. If Future Trunks can find a way to cross timelines, then what’s stopping an alternate fusion of Gogeta coming around and challenging Vegito to an old-fashioned duel?
