In introducing the Batman and Superman team up movie during the Warner Bros. panel, Harry Lennix said, “I want you to remember Clark in all the years to come. In all your private moments, I want you to remember my hand at your throat. I want you to remember, the one man who beat you.”Of course, this is a classic quote from Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, which might seem to indicate that Superman and Batman would be at odds rather than necessarily teaming up. At the Superman 75th Anniversary Panel at San Diego Comic-Con International, Man Of Steel writer David S. Goyer confirmed as much. While the movie doesn’t have a definite title yet, Goyer mentioned either Superman Vs. Batman or Batman Vs. Superman. There wasn’t a decision on whose name would come first apparently, but the implication was that versus would be part of the title. So rather than a Superman and Batman team-up movie, the movie could more accurately be described as a Superman and Batman fight movie.”So over in Hall H at the Warner Bros.–I guess most people know now–at the end of the Warner Bros. panel, Zack came out and he brought Harry Lennix, who plays General Swanwick in Man of Steel and we–actually, Harry read a bit from [The Dark Knight Returns],” Goyer told the Superman 75th Anniversary Panel. “So the next film we’re making, we’re already in pre-production, comes out in summer of 2015 and it’s–we’re actually not sure whether the title is Superman vs. Batman or Batman vs. Superman but yes, it’s–that rematch, that combination, the two guys onscreen and that’s happening.”Superman Vs Batman or Batman Vs Superman is scheduled to be released in movie theaters in the summer of 2015.
