According to The-Numbers.com, The Hunger Games has now sold 5,377,765 DVD units, which makes for $93,211,176 in sales revenue.At 5,377,765 DVD unit sold, The Hunger Games passed by The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1, which sits in the #2 spot with 5,223,078 DVD units sold. The Hunger Games DVD was released on August 18, 2012, while The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 DVD was released on February 11, 2012.In it’s first weekend of release, The Hunger Games sold out in many stores and reached 3.8 million in DVD and Blu-ray units sold. With The Hunger Games still ranking at or near the top of the DVD sales chart in recent weeks, it’s lead over The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 will likely grow even larger.The Hunger Games and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1 are the only two DVDs released in 2012, which have crossed over 5 million units sold so far. The Lorax is the third highest selling DVD of 2012, but it has only reached 2,980,599 units sold.
