"We started this Vixen series last year with Vixen Season 1 and that was very much a story about Mari learning to come to grips with her responsibilities of being a hero to the city of Detroit," Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim said in a new featurette. "In Season 2, we continue that evolution with sort of the next natural phase, which is Mari learning to become a hero not just to Detroit but to the entire world. Her entire story becomes so much more expansive and so much larger in Season 2. We bring in Firestorm -- both halves of Firestorm, Jax and Stein, Felicity Smoak, Cisco Ramon, Black Canary/Laurel Lance, The Atom. It really is an inclusive sort of Arrowverse kind of event."
Originally from Africa, Mari McCabe's parents were killed by local greed, corruption, and wanton violence. But the orphaned Mari refuses to succumb to the terrors surrounding her. Inheriting her family's Tantu Totem, Mari can access the powers of animals -- anything from the super-strength of a gorilla to the speed of a cheetah. As Vixen, she fights valiantly to protect the world from the threats like those that claimed her family.
Based on characters from DC Comics, VIXEN is produced by Blue Ribbon Content and Warner Bros. Animation, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Andrew Kriesberg.
Vixen returns with all-new episodes this fall, only on CW Seed.
