Even though it already made its debut in the UK last month, Justice League Action had its domestic debut on Cartoon Network this evening. To celebrate, a new clip from the animated series (features 11-minute long episodes) was unveiled on the latest episode of DC All Access and Shane Glines, the show's character designer, took part in an interview with Jason Inman.

As for the sneak peek, it begins with The Dark Knight in his Batmobile, being informed by Superman that he's chasing a Djinn creature. Man of Steel warns Batman not to get too close to the creature because the last one they encountered "drained our powers." Superman the tells Batman that he sent backup and Green Arrow swoops in.

The villainous Black Adam battles Batman on the Rock of Eternity and unleashes a horde of Djinn determined to turn the Earth back to its pre-human, volcanic state. Affected by the otherworldly powers of these primordial monsters, Batman becomes possessed and is turned into a giant flying Batmonster laying waste to the Hall of Justice, with only Superman capable of taking the fight to the Dark Knight. One by one, the Justice League - with the help of Shazam (voiced by Sean Astin) and The Wizard (voiced by Carl Reiner) - must hunt down and defeat each Djinn in order to yet again save the world from destruction.

The voice-cast features Kevin Conroy as Batman, Mark Hamill as the Joker, James Woods as Lex Luthor, Diedrich Bader as Booster Gold, Sean Astin as Shazam, Rachel Kimsey as Wonder Woman, Jason J. Lewis as Superman, Chris Diamantopoulos as Green Arrow, and Josh Keaton as Green Lantern.

Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!) will serve as executive producer with Butch Lukic (Justice League, Batman Beyond), Alan Burnett (Batman: The Animated Series) and Jim Krieg (Green Lantern: The Animated Series) serving as producers.

Beginning December 24, Justice League Action moves to Saturdays at 7:30 a.m. ET/PT.
