Arrow ended season 5 with a bang – more like a big bang – as Adrian Chase/Prometheus blew up all of Lian Yu island with Team Arrow still on it – and Oliver Queen looking on helplessly as his friends may/may not die.

That cliffhanger has sparked all kinds of fan speculation about where Arrow season 6 is headed with its story, starting with the ramifications and fallout of the Lian Yu explosion (see below).

The Aftermath

Arrow Season 6 Premiere Story

According to Stephen Amellย (at 3:00 mark),ย Arrowย season 6 will build off of the momentum season 5 generated up until its very last scene. However, that doesn’t mean the season story arc will be rushed.

As Amellย Explains

“Feels like We hit the ground running. It feels like from the Season 5 momentum – feels like when we start with 601…nothing has made my jaw drop in the first three scripts that I’ve read; but concurrently, they’re really tight, and they’re really moving the story forward. And I feel like we’re using the licenseย that we’ve earned over five seasons to play it slow with some stories.”

Some Arrowย fans will be nervous to hear that, as it could suggest either a well-done slow-burn execution of storyline, or a meandering one;ย Arrowย has fallen into both formats, in the past.ย

Meanwhile, while season 6 is taking its time to unfold, some fans will surely remember that this new season is, in some ways, still finishing off the story arc form season 5, which took its sweet time to unfold, as well. Case in point:ย
