Fifty Shades of Grey opened in first, bringing in $21.5 million from 3,710 locations.

John Wick: Chapter 2 had a third place finish on Friday, opening to $11 million.

While The LEGO Batman Movie fell to Fifty Shades Darker on Friday, the former is expected to win the weekend as kids flood to theaters for daylight showings. The LEGO Batman Movie is projected to earn $54 million in its first three days. That total is slightly shy of initial projections, but solid nonetheless.

Fifty Shades Darker is expected to come in second, earning $46 million in its opening weekend. John Wick: Chapter 2 should trail behind in third with $29 million for the weekend.

The LEGO Batman Movie and Fifty Shades Darker may top the box office, but they’ll both fall shy of their predecessors. The LEGO Movie opened to $69 million in its first three days. 50 Shades of Grey pulled in more than $85 million.

On the other hand, John Wick: Chapter 2 is set to build on the buzz created by the original John Wick, which opened to just $14 million in its first weekend.

In The LEGO Batman Movie, there are big changes brewing in Gotham, but if Batman (Will Arnett) wants to save the city from the Joker’s (Zach Galifianakis) hostile takeover, he may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up. Maybe his superhero sidekick Robin (Michael Cera) and loyal butler Alfred (Ralph Fiennes) can show him a thing or two.

In John Wick: Chapter 2, in this next chapter following the 2014 hit, legendary hitman John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is forced back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers.

In Fifty Shades Darker, Anastasia has broken off her relationship with the troubled Christian to pursue a new career in a Seattle publishing house.
