Warner Bros. Announces Batman: Arkham Underworld

Players have experienced what it’s like to be Batman in previous Arkham games, and now you’ll get a chance to play as the hero’s infamous rogue’s gallery.

Batman: Arkham Underworld is a mobile game that tasks you with taking control of Gotham City. Every would be crimelord needs some help, and if Gotham has a surplus of anything its villains. You’ll enlist and control villains like The Riddler, Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, Harley Quinn, and Scarecrow as you conquer Batman’s city block by block.

You’ll need to build a stellar hideout, as well as deal with the mundane tasks of being the boss, which means hiring and training henchmen to fight on your behalf. The Gotham P.D. will be your primary enemy, but as you climb the underworld ladder you will get the Dark Knight’s attention, and will have to defend your headquarters accordingly.

The game is set in the Arkham-verse, so you’ll recognize the character designs and art style, but it is set before the events of Rocksteady’s Arkham Knight. You can see more art from the game in the gallery, and make sure to check out the debut trailer above.
