Everyone seems to be hosting a big press conference around E3 this year, including Electronic Arts (before its EA Play event), Microsoft, Bethesda, Sony, Ubisoft and, digitally, Nintendo. Now you can add another company to the mix – Devolver Digital.

The independent game publisher, who will be releasing Shadow Warrior 2 this week and also released the quirky 90’s-inspired first-person shooter Strafe, has confirmed that it will be hosting its own E3 press conference this week. While it didn’t announce a set date or time for the event, it said more details would be available soon.

The company tweeted, “Devolver Digital will have an E3 press conference this year. Please stay tuned for time and date.” Knowing the publisher, it will also be broadcasting it online for fans to see.

But here’s the thing – it probably won’t be at E3, since the company just confirmed its plans to hold a festival right across the street from the big event, the same week that it’s happening. There, it intends to have food and drink available to all pass holders, as well as game stations, carnival games and more. So it’ll be held off-site somewhere, but still close by so fans can see what the company is up to.

Aside from the aforementioned games, Devolver Digital seems to have a pretty loaded plate that it’ll bring to the not-E3 party, including its beat-em-up Absolver, Ape Out, Crossing Souls, Eitr, Minit, Ruiner, Serious Sam’s Bogus Detour and Sometimes Always Monsters. It’ll likely have these games ready to go to some extent, as well as some new announcements to keep fans pleased.

This marks the first time that the company will be hosting an E3 press conference, even though it’s been doing the festival across the street for years. It’s just another way for them to get involved without actually being at the show itself – and it’s a move that’s paying off in spades, as fans that attend can’t get enough of free food and drink. Oh, and games, too. We’d love to play Absolver again.

Look for more info on the press conference soon, complete with details!
