One of the big announcements to take place at EVO 2017 over the weekend was the debut of some new downloadable content for Tekken 7 – but not just any downloadable content.

Geese Howard, who’s been making a living wrecking fools in SNK-branded Neo-Geo fighting games over the past few years, will be joining the roster later this year, bringing his powerhouse skills with him.

Bandai Namco has just debuted a new trailer for the forthcoming character, along with some new images of him in action, which you can see in the attached gallery. As you can see, he’s a powerful man that shouldn’t be messed with.

In the trailer, we first see a live-action shot that features Tekken producer and director Katsuhiro Harada heading over to the SNK headquarters to meet with execs to discuss the inclusion of a new character in the game. However, in humorous fashion, instead of suggesting Geese, he instead points out the masked wrestler Raiden, who first appeared in the earlier Fatal Fury games.

Needless to say, the execs felt that Howard was a better fit, and soon after, you see him in action as he puts Heihachi in his place with a number of devastating moves. You can see that trailer above.

Howard has appeared in a number of Neo-Geo games over the years, including Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury and The King of Fighters. However, he actually died in the Fatal Fury series, but, as we’ve learned from fighting games, just because someone dies doesn’t mean they actually stay dead. Just look at Liu Kang in the Mortal Kombat series – he came back with flying colors.

A release date hasn’t been given for Geese Howard just yet, but he’s expected to make his debut over the next few months, along with other characters that will be included in the DLC pack, and the return of the Tekken Bowl mode. We’ll let you know once Bandai Namco has everything scheduled out, so you can set up your encounters with Howard and Heihachi – or better yet, Howard and Akuma – in epic fashion.

Tekken 7 is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
