There are a lot of racing sims out there, but not many that compare the depth and polish of Microsoft’s Forza series. During the publisher’s Xbox @ Gamescom livestream they provided a few more details about Forza Motorsport 7, including details about how it will run on PC. Obviously, the race will look great on high-end machine, but it will also run well on lower-spec computers.
“This is the first Forza built from the ground up for PC, dynamic weather, dynamic skies, a massive new motorsport-inspired campaign. It will be on PC at native 4K and unlocked framerate for those high-end machines. We’ve got so many passionate players, and we’re going to bring all the PC and Xbox players into one place.
We’ve also been able to lower our min-spec to an i5 750. In fact, at the office I play it on a Surface Pro 4. Our recommended spec has been lowered as well, at it still runs at a rock-solid 60 fps.”
The game will also support pretty much racing wheel you may own…
“We have over 30 officially supported wheels, which is cool, but with multi-USB support you can take any of the boutique wheels or pedals you have and you can mix and match ’em. I’ve raced Forza 7 on a Guitar Hero guitar. Whatever you’ve got in your closet and plug it in and play.”
