New guns such as the Frost Bite Sniper Rifle. New mini bosses are also incoming for the game, including one “bulked up badass.” Front end inventory is also slated for launch. More info on all of this, including the mysterious new snowball gun, will be available during their upcoming livestream on December 13th on the Epic Games Twitch account.
To see the new 50 vs 50 mode, you can check out the reveal trailer here – but make sure to get on that action soon, because it is only available for a very limited amount of time!
How does it work?
Just load up Battle Royale and select the 50v50 playlist. You can jump into the mode solo or with up to three friends. Once the Battle Bus gets flying, you’ll see your squad on the map and communicate like a normal squad/duo match. You’ll also see green markers on the map and above the heads of the remaining 50-player team. The circle closes in. Last team standing wins.
Are there any special rules?
- Friendly Fire Off (But you will still see hit indicators.)
- Limited visibility of non-squad teammates.
- Squad VoIP only.
- You can revive ANY friendly teammates.
- You won’t see non-squad teammates until you land.
